Regular Meeting - May 31, 2021

Congratulations and all the best to Melodie for choosing Western University in the fall. We are very proud of you!!!

Speaker - Leah Parent
Leah started her Rotary journey as an exchange student to Austria in 2012-2013. Upon her return, after attending Wilfred Laurier University, she joined the Rotaract Club of Mississauga and is the current Co-President of the Club.
Leah enjoys volunteering, and has worked at major events like the Toronto Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games. the World Junior Hockey Championships and the Toronto Cider Festival, as well as the women's crisis shelters.
As the youth are our future, Leah has certainly done us proud with her commitment to Rotary. We wish her all the best as she continues on her journey!!!

Announcements & Happenings
1) Happy Dates for May -  Happy Birthday to Louise (May 22). Happy Anniversary to Archie & Sophie, and 6th Club Anniversary to Madiha (May 25).

2) Salvation Army WALK FOR HOPE -Thank you to all the members who participated, especially Louise and Archie who brought in substantial amounts from sponsors. Our club raised $3,850 for the Salvation Army.
There will be a thank you Zoom call on Wednesday May 9 at 6PM, our club has won the team with the most active participants.

4) Dixie Cup - The Dixie Cup is based on attendance at our regular meetings. For each quarter, all members who made 100% attendance will have their names in a draw, the successful winner will be able to use $200 from our Fundraising Account towards a Registered Charity of his or her choice. At the end of the year, any member who made the highest percentage will be the winner of the Cup for one year.
