Speaker - Mahad Shahzad & Ke Xin Lin
Mahad is the founder and President of Chatting to Wellness, a student run, not for profit organization he started at the age of 18 in 2017. By using university student volunteers, many with a passion for mental health and senior wellness, they were conducting weekly visits to retirement homes to chat with seniors to help them combat loneliness and isolation.
During the present day pandemic, Chatting to Wellness has switched gears to using phone calls to reach the shut in seniors, at a prearranged time, signed up by themselves or a family member, with a duration of 45 minutes per call, to give them some outside contact and relieve their loneliness. Since April, 450+ student volunteers, with multi languages, have signed up for the service, but they need to get the message through to as many seniors as possible out there who need the help.
Thank you Mahad and Ke Xin for your presentation, our club is happy to support such a much needed initiative. For more information, go to
